Is this true?

You haven't posted again.

Not laughing at you, but the people who have no idea what they're talking about and are always giving out ignorant info. I do snatch eggs at night. Mostly because I have a late layer and she always wants to go broody on me.

Trust me, everyone gets silly advice and no one was picking on you. But yes for someone to tell you this is funny, so it was a good laugh. You make the right choice to join this forum, because not everyone agrees, there are all kind of people to help you out, so I hope you aren't embarassed, because you shouldn't be.

I don't think hens are possessive about "their" eggs, unless broody I guess. They lay them in a comfortable spot and don't seem to mind if I pull them out from under them or later on.

Heehee I do this too! Some of my hens will growl at me (I tell them: "yes you are scary, good girl"), and some, like my Darla, thinks it's another chance to catch me up on the local gossip.

Thanks for all the responses.
You all sound like an interesting bunch! I know I'm a bit chicken-clueless so I must sound funny to you guys.

My hens are changing around their nests so much! They're a fickle group.

Interesting? Why yes we are. LOL

I have one bird that refuses to lay in the box. Back step is her choice. My last flock I had a Polish that did the same thing. It;s like they were delivering breakfast

They all have their own personalities.

I'm so glad you posted though. I was afraid we had chased you off and it wasn't our intention. The longer you're here, the more craziness you'll encounter. We're just happy you joined the insanity.

If hens are aloud to free range all the time and they are broody, yes they will move there nest, I have it happen to me all the time.
If the hens is penned up at night or if the hens aren't broody then no they wont move her nest.
