She appears to be a hen.

Never gobbled, but the bird has sometimes done a partial display, lowering wings and raising tail for a moment.

She has small caruncles, a small wattle and a small snood. She has a "mohawk" of feathers running up the back of her neck and on top of her head.

It can't be seen fro this photo but if you check her breast feathers, the lower edge of her breast feathers will be a light color.

Does it still look like a hen? This is the same turkey



Back story: The black chicken hatched and raised the turkey. Turkey still follows "mom" around all day. The baby chick just hatched by the same chicken, so it is the turkey's "baby sister". The turkey displays like this whenever someone gets close to mom and chick.
