My sister is in Port Douglas and says it's the first time she's had to put an extra blanket on the bed.

I buy mine at BJ’s. A 1 pound package cost $5 and that lasts me over a year.

I buy a 12 pound bag of King Arthur flour at BJ’s for $9.99. It’s the only flour I buy. They’re in Vermont so close enough to be considered local.

Moderate air quality today. Picked 3 ripe tomatoes from the mislabeled plants. Determinate, I think. Picked green beans and bell peppers. Stuffed peppers today. Still waiting on okra and zuke to produce.

Picked more green beans yesterday along with first berry picking on the hill. Working on the hill is really hard on my knees. Too much stabilizing. I’m skipping the hill today to give my knees a rest. Speaking about electricity. I had a crockpot full of pork and a batch of sourdough on it’s first rise when our power went out. Wah! After nearly an hour I fired up the grill and put the pork roast on it. Before that I had to punch my dough and put it into loaf pans then put the loaves in the refrigerator with an ice pack to slow down the proofing. After I got the pork on the grill the power came back on. So frustrating. Our electric rates are really high here as well. I’ll have to look at my account to see what the per kw rate is and get back to you. Time to go pick the beans.
