I received started pullets and one of my white leghorns has started laying recently. Its first few eggs were pretty small, but the last three days, it has been laying double yolkers! Now I know a double yolk egg is not that unusual...but three days in a row?!? Will she keep doing this....here is a pic of one of her first eggs next to her double yolker...

And here is a picture of it being candled...i cracked the last two and they were double yolks and you can see the two yolks in this picture....

Wow, no idea if that is normal but I'm excited to see that the eggs get bigger after only a few. My golden comet started laying this past Tuesday and had laid one each day since but they are still small. Can't wait to see a nice BIG one in the nest.

maybe yours is one of those birds that was bred to lay doubles all the time ????

or her system is just trying to get "adjusted" to the new job it has. good luck with that and give her some love, I am sure she walks differently after those lol. poor thing

I have a Golden Comet that will lay a double yoker every other day - and still lay a regular one on the off day.
One day she laid 2 complete eggs in 1 shell. 2 full size yolks surounded by their own whites. I was amazed.
