Okay, I know this doesn't involve incubators and is a cross post from the duck forum, but its slow over there and I would like some input.

I have a mother and daughter who have laid in the same place, and now BOTH are setting on the nest. Throughout the day they will take turns getting up, and then both stay on it all night. The daughter was setting on a nest in June, but it was too hot and all of the eggs cooked. I guess she wanted in on the action! LOL. What happens when the babies hatch? Are they going to share them or fight over them?

Here's a picture. The mom is the darker one on top. They are Rouen X Blue Swede.

Before I went out and "disturbed" them to take a picture, the mom was literally half setting on the daughter! I just don't want them to fight over the babies when they hatch, and was wondering if anyone has hatched them out this way and how it worked.

I wonder how many eggs are under there? I haven't even been able to look for the two of them. I hope they share the babies, and I hope they hatch this time. I've had two ducks go broody and set, and both came out with nothing.
