Is Tractor supply/Hoover's hatchery always so frustrating?

I've ordered from TSC/hoover's once. Now I order direct from Hoover's, and I get what I order, exactly when it was promised.
The one TSC/Hoover's, I looked at Hoover's website to get insight as to when the birds would be available, but that's problamatic because some are probably set aside for TSC.
TSC told me I not only missed the cutoff for when I expected the birds, but they told me the birds wouldn't be available for another couple-three weeks.
SO, I ordered birds directly from Hoover's hoping to get them sooner.
Imagine my surprise when on the date Hoover's promised, I got TWO shipping notices!
TSC evidently had been mistaken about the 2-3 weeks, I got their shipment much sooner than they said, and the Hoover's direct shipment, exactly when Hoover's said.
You can order 10 birds from TSC, and probably get 12 (I did). You can order 15 from Hoover's, and mix/match 5 bird minimum of each sex/breed. The chick price includes shipping, so if the birds are $4 each, you pay $60 total.
BTW, I called Hoover's when I got the two shipping notices and they were able to tell me what TSC did not, even though I bought that one order from TSC. Hoover's customer service is great!

Well.... I guess I’ll stick to hatching out my own chicks or just buying what I find at TSC. I thought about ordering chicks either through TSC or directly from the hatchery, but I’m worried I couldn’t hit to pick them up since the hubby would have to do it after work. All the cats and chickens are stressful enough without add ing shipping debacles to it.

Welp, that was a short game.
Short recap for anyone interested I had a small late hatch on July 29th with an abysmal 50% success rate and one of those was 999% male.
Small hatch was small only a half dozen with a take away total of two, obviously it was time to play the game.
On August 02, 2020 an order for ten female salmon faverolles was placed via the TSC website to be filled by Hoover's.
TSC gave no timeframe and Hoover's indicated a date of September 22 as the first available females they'd have.
On Wednesday August 05, 2020 a TSC ship notice sat in my spam folder in between publishers clearinghouse and discount Viagra.
I open it and im greeted with in transit expected delivery Friday Aug 07, 2020.
That can't be right, can it?
At 8:15 on Thurs Aug 06, 2020 my lovely mail carrier Kathy informs me iv'e got a peeping box and please for the love of sweet silence come get it.
Husband retrieves said box, hands it over moment of truth time....take a deep breath, pop the lid.
Adorable clump inside, pull it apart nobody has ceased to be, pop them in the brooder.
Chicks eat and drink immediately, original two seek shelter from the yellow plauge i'd surprised them with "sorry kids".
Hoover's and TSC over satisfied me was not expecting four days.:lau

Yep, ten tiny noise machines.

I ordered for the first time from them in August. I was using the TSC search engine (which is pretty awful) to find something chicken-related, don't remember what, when all the chicks show up in the results. And there they were, Lavender Orpingtons 10 for $59 including shipping! I thought that was an error. Looked on the Hoover website and Lavender Orps were "sold out" there.

Went back to TSC and read reviews and there was a mixed bag of reviews but ordered ten chicks anyway. Wasn't given the option of vaccinating for Marek's so I called Hoover's the next morning. They told me they offer Marek's vaccination at no charge through TSC so my chicks would be vaccinated at no extra charge. I was told the shipping date (would be shipped the next day). It was a pleasant experience. I received my chicks two days later. All alive and healthy. They are four weeks old now. There's an even split between cockerels and pullets. I'm very happy with the price, the purchase experience and with the chicks.
