at least one of my hens are laying egg with say egg white underneath. In other words leaking?
Is that also a sign of worms? loose poo again in half of them..pasty mess.
BYC health pack may not be helping.
dont know if they are sneaking too many tomatoes or eating too many worms down in their big field(1/2 acre plus). and a quite bit of rain lately too
I hate to worms them again with Valbazen if not needed...Hubby is so tired and cranky in the evening. and THY HATE it so much....

You mean that there is white, semi-liquid being secreted from the vent?
How does it smell? Vent gleet is usually smells very, very nasty. :hmm
When was the last time they where de-wormed? If it has been within the year, it would be unlikely that they would have a serious internal parasite issue.
What makes up the bulk of their diet? (some foods, like legumes, are prone to cause pasty manure in chickens because they cannot digest them well.)
Could you post a photo of the vent area? That would definitely help. :)

Could be vent gleet. My standard answer is to put them on fermented feed. If half of your flock has this issue, you have a problem. I'd not assume it's a worm issue unless a fecal float indicated there was a heavy worm load. Only problem I've ever had with vent gleet was a cockerel that had Vit E encephalitis.

I have had several hens with vent gleet... ACV/molasses (yeah, sounds weird but it worked) in their water and vaginal cream (for yeast infections) applied topically to the vent area kicked it. However, since vent gleet is a symptom of an internal environment imbalance... it takes permanent diet alterations and a strong establishment of healthy bacteria in the gut to keep it from coming back... :p
I can't say I have tried it (yet.. The subject has caught my interest though), but I have heard good report from others on the subject of fermented feed preventing/treating vent gleet (as lazy gardener said). :)
