Is wing shape a good way to determine the sex of a chick?

I have 12 new baby chicks 4 have the wrong shape of picture one and 8 have the wrong shape in picture two. I was told and from what I read on the internet picture one, the tan wing is a male and picture two the darker chick is a female. Is this setting method fairly accurate?

No. Wing feather sexing only works if the parents are set up properly genetically (mother has the dominant slow feathering gene and the father has only the recessive fast feathering gene).

pends on the breed. i can usually pick them out on how their neck looks lol .. somebody will always take a rooster though and its best to keep a spare anyway in case yours loses his mojo or something .. if worse comes to worse just drop him off at a walmart parking lot haha.
