hi all
for 3 months I am trying to hatch isa brown hen eggs that I crossed with australorp rooster ho I know he is fertile because he matted with other chickens and made chicks, with the brahma rooster nothing came out, I light the eggs and nothing, after 21 day nothing inside the egg.
why could that be?
I hatched many eggs from brahma araucana and others

So some eggs are fertile, but not the cross you are trying to make?

hi, i am not making isa brown chick, i just want to cross isa brown hen with my roster, nothing is fertile from this chicken, what could make the eggs not fertile? i know that the rooster is fertile.
did any one had this?
what could i do?

Have you ever seen the rooster mount this hen? There are hens that roosters reject and never mate. Likewise, there are hens that reject a certain rooster. The fact that she is an ISA Brown hen has no bearing, but there is a disconnect between that particular hen and that particular rooster.

Do you have a second in command rooster? Perhaps you need one...

yes the rooster mounted the hen, I do have other roosters, what will be if I use the araucana rooster? blu egg cross brown egg, I hope he will do good

I have crossed an isa brown with my silver ameraucana and hatch 3 out of six eggs they are all white in color only the cockerele has a bit black here and there with no beards and the other two are pullets and are pure white and have beards and muffs

coudl be that my hen is 2 old, she is 4 years old

Normaly production chicken should be held on a special dieet for the eggs to get fertile i have had problems with production red is the begining also with isa browns and highline hybrid what i did was change their diet lots of green esplly spinich leaves shredded carrots and other green vegitable i have used folic acid tablets and as for fish proteine some cod liver oil and lots of seeds mix seeds oats, whole wheat cernels, rye, split peas green and yellow, corn, sun flower seed peeled or mix diffrent bird seeds dont use

Sry dont use any layers feed or layena or any other mash do this for 2 weeks before starting any breeding keep feeding her thia diet trough the breeding as well folic acid tablets could be purchased in a drug store as well as cod liver oil this help her kern of the yolk be strong to recieve sperm and to be fertiliz properly maybe ur chicken have a week ovulation and its (kern) is not strong to start out a new chick us oyster shell or other calcium to help the egg shell as well weak egg shell tend 2 let bacteria in and could kill the sleeping embryo very easily do this and let me know if u want more help feel free to add me on whats app at 00297-733-2282 (002977332282)
