Newbie question... Sorry guys!! But my pullets are coming into lay but I only have two weeks before winter comes my question will a chicken that us just at pol still lay her first egg in winter or do they often start after winter when it is warmer??? I know it's a stupid question but I have to ask

They start to lay at the appropriate age, regardless of weather. It just means she will be
Laying slightly less because of the weather.

The amount of light per day has a big impact on their laying. If the days get too short egg production drops off unless you have alternate lighting (nothing fancy, just a light hooked up to a timer perhaps)

Just had to share thisMy girls are 17 weeks today ... And all they have done is complain for two days ..complained about food and water change and anytime I walked outside, even after they had a sweet they still complained.

They will get used to it then they will complain if you give them something else.

All I did was get rid of the old layer pellets that they pooped on and gave them fresh food and gave them fresh water as I don't like to leave their water for more then one day Like i have done for 15 weeks of they little lives ....Seriously they have issues... Lmao!!!
