Hi,

I have an Isa Brown that has prolapsed, it is 2 years old. We cleaned up the area, cut the feathers around and tried to put it back in, however it wouldn't go back in. After a while it started to discharge the egg white, it was starting to get late so we put it to bed.
We are considering taking it to the vet, however it will cost $157 to fix.
I was doing some research and found out that Isa Browns are prone to reproductive failures etc.
So my questions are...
1. Is there anything else we can do to help cure the chicken?
2. What is the life expectancy of an Isa Brown? - its well fed and in flock of 3 - large area to run.
3. Is this just the start of a whole lot of injuries to the chicken?

Sorry is this is a bit vague.
Thanks

Thanks for that info!

Swelling has now gone down, she is becoming much more mobile. About to bathe her again to make sure she dosnt get an infection. She is now eating and we are givin her some shellgrit.
Looks like shes on the mend!
