The absolute worst rooster my parents ever had was an ISA brown. He attacked everything for every reason, but he especially hated my father. Then one day dad happened to be holding a crowbar and he came up swinging.

If you want a good temprament, though, the best way to ensure that is to find a local place that's getting rid of some mature roosters. They'll be able to describe their boy's temperament to you, and you won't have to deal with an idiot cockerel who's constantly rough on your hens until he figures out what to do.
