Our dear Margaret started acting strange. Standing still often. Tail feathers down. She pushed this out Thursday evening after laying Thursday morning normal. Friday evening she layed without a shell. Can anyone help us with this? She is eating and drinking at times. Roosting at times. Just not herself... :( any information is appreciated if you have experienced this.

I think that is a cast of her reproductive tract. They shed them sometimes, esp the production breeds. I don't know much more but you could research it.

That is a egg and membrane. Could be an indication that she's starting to have reproductive issues, might just be a glitch.
If she were mine, I would gather her up and direct dose her with poultry vitamins like Poultry Cell at a rate of 1cc per 3 pounds of weight and give her 1/2 tablet of Caltrate for 3 days. (no more)
Make sure she's drinking well and then see that she's eating her normal nutritionally balanced poultry feed.

While you have her up, give her a going over looking for lice/mites. Look for evidence that she may be beginning to molt too.

Keep us posted on how she's doing.
