Isa Brown

It's unusual for an ISA brown (a very productive bird), to go broody. But if she is, she will be collecting her 'clutch', and may fluff up or cluck protectively. So yes, in the lead up to full on broodiness, she will be laying eggs. Once she has her clutch, her hormones will shift to setting, and she shouldn't be laying eggs anymore.
