Last year I bought 6 pullets. 2 Buffs, 2 jersey giants, an ISA Brown and a RIR. The RIR turned out to be a rooster but sure this is the hen that was labeled as ISA Brown. But can't find anything about the breed anywhere. Was she missed labeled. She is the nicest hen I have, and smaller then the rest but not by much

The Isa Browns were developed in the late 1970's as a commercial egg production bird. A hardy and friendly breed, they are a great breed to start with.

ISA Brown are not a breed. They are a red sex-linked production hybrid bred by Hendrix Genetics. They are common commercial layer house birds that lay a large to extra large brown egg and can be sexed at birth. We like them.

Your bird is some type of red sex link, and definitely a female. She'll flood you in big brown eggs once she hits her laying stride!

She has be ending layilaying For almost a year. She is the most friendliest bird that I have. This year when I went and got new chicks I couldn't find them again.
