Isbar thread

So I just bought Isbar chicks so this question is a little ahead but I have 5 black chicks. When they reproduce will their chicks be the 50% blue/25% black/25% splash or will it be 50% black?

Just as KYTinpusher said -- black + black = all black. At first I thought I would never ever get the Blue,black, splash combinations -- and after awhile it sunk in.

One of the good things about B, bl spl -- is that if you were to pair a splash and a black - you could sell the hatching eggs with a pretty high confidence level that all the chicks that hatch will be blue.

Very interesting. Thanks. I recently purchased a pair of blue Jersey Giants and some of their chicks plus hatching eggs. Out of the 12 chicks: 3 blacks, 1 white/splash and 8 blues. Next spring I may try to obtain blue/splash Isbars although as far as I know there is only 1 breeder within the province.

I just received my Splash Isbar from the mail man this morning!

I'm getting another shipment of chicks from the same place next week and of course I couldn't resist!
I ordered another Splash Isbar and will post pictures of that one too!

Hi Exotica. What a darling! Where did you get her?

Hello! I got her from http://www.SecretHillsRanch.com and she's doing great!
I didn't notice but last night my heat lamp malfunctioned.. so they had no heat the whole night (I also ordered a French Lavender Marans and Cream Legbar).

This morning all three were huddled up and I was so scared I've lost them but they're vivacious little buggers!
They were eating and jumping all around! I've gotten another lamp for now until my Amazon one reaches me but I'm so glad I went with SHR!

How adorable!!! Yours are drop dead gorgeous! I love how they have darker feet and almost a darker tint to their eye area!
What stock are your chicks from? I hope the feet on my darken as it grows older!
