Isbar thread

After seeing tinpusher's post. Now I understand the eggs. Here is better pic of my eggs I just received from Josh in GA.
Good luck with your hatch!

Do you have a means of separating the eggs in your incubator so you can mark the chicks that hatch from the brown eggs?

Tome I got as an egg from a lady that had pures, she is the sister or daughter of Martin She just got a bunch of new feathers from a molt. Her neck feathers look like his. but it is hard to tell in the pic she is hiding.

Martin the roo.

the australorp mixed hen the dad was Australorp. The other Isbar hens I have are molting, and from a different hatch.
I agree that Martin is a particularly beautiful Isbar. I see this appearance and I also see the ones that have warmer colors like my blue-roo has.

He's molting right now -- hence the raggedy appearance -- when his sickles grow back they will be black.

Does anyone have views on the color variations?

Using a Little Giant. I had seen someone used mesh with zip ties to separate their chicks.
Some people use the baskets made for baby bottle items in the dishwasher to separate chicks in the incubator. I made some baskets out of the plastic cross stitch mesh and zipties to use in my Brinsea. I'll try to get a picture later today. You may be able to find something that would work at a dollar store. Any small basket with good ventilation and a lid should work.
