Isbar thread

Thanks so much for posting that. It'll give me something to look back on - I'm going to be incubating some isbar eggs next week. I tend to convince myself that all my chicks are girls! Even when they start to crow I think they're just dominant pullets!!

K so I have a quality question...i have two too roos, one who its my absolute favorite, good coloration and size but his comb points aren't even. two are quite a bit shorter than the others...breed and change to one of his sons later or breed the other roo who is smaller in stature and iffy coloration but has a good comb.

In that case, absolutely the comb problem would be secondary for me. The exception maybe would be something like if the comb was flat out wrong or had side sprigs. Points on the comb only count as a 1/2 to 1 point deduction in judging.

In my campines roos I cull heavily for combs that have any lop to them, but I have lots of roos to choose from.

I'd choose first for body/type.

Are any of your isbars for sale. I live fairly close to Rome. I am buying a male tomorrow from Atlanta. and I would like to have a female for him.

I have ten isbars - 4 splash 4 blue and 2 blacks. I am disappointed in the color of the eggs also (in the pics I've seen as mine aren't laying age yet) and I thought I would get eggs that were green with brown specks. As for the moss green, my EE's already do that. Regardless, I like having a rare breed but they act like most European bred chickens - flightly and not interested in much human contact.

Does anyone have a rooster for sale or know of anyone who does? I'd prefer Blue or Black. I'm looking for a new man for my ladies! Should be easier than finding hens I'm guessing??? :)

I have one lone Isbar due to hatch Jan 3. If it turns out male, I would sell it to you. Also my son is stopping at Richard Jordan's Farm tomorrow. He is picking me up a few legbar eggs, but he sells Isbars. I live in Dawsonville, Ga. He could pick you up a too for you. Pm me if you are interested.

Hi, all. I have a question about isbars. I've been looking closely at pics over the last few days, and I've noticed an inconsistency. Some isbars have white earlobes (? not sure if this is the right word) and some have red. Take a look on Greenfire's website, they have both (roo with red, hen with white). I've also seen birds advertised as Greenfire lines, and the roos have white ones. Are they supposed to be one or the other? I don't know much about isbars, but I'm trying to learn. Thanks!
