This is my Isbar x SFH cockerel. Not quite as dark as yours, but his mother was a white (splash) SFH.

I wasn't planning to breed him - unless I can get some funky egg colors. Maybe breed him with some Marens to see what color eggs I get. Or breed him with Cream Legbars to get Ice Cream Bars.

I had the feeling, they're fighting a bit, but his brother is the same age and is beginning to crow.. I am going to try the no crow collar soon.. We are only keeping one and his brother, "Burt" is prettier isbar.. However, his comb and waddle are a different size, that is what was confusing..

This is Pillow, my other Isbar/Dorking cross. Sister to Sparrow. She should be laying any day now! This is Sparrow! She's so darn pretty! And of course my boy Captain. He's my favorite...shhhh! Don't tell the others!

Here is my Isbar young rooster - I got him and a couple of pullets from Greenfire as "packing peanuts" - that they identified as Isbars. What do you think? I don't know anything much about this breed. Is he a Blue Isbar? Trying to fatten him up a bit. He's not as well filled out as my Cream Legbar - he's in that teenaged boy skinny stage.

A lot of the new line Isbars carry that much red. I have a hen that color and she lays the most perfect light green eggs.

Her egg is in the middle (blue Legbar egg on top, ISA Brown on bottom)

Yes, that is the more common color. Especially with the old import. But to say a bird is probably mixed just because it has red ( which is recessive) is not fair ( or correct).
