My cockeral, who is only 10-11 weeks old tried to mount my Serama hen today! Isn't that awfully young? She put him in his place without being abusive, but I didn't expect this for at least a while yet. He isn't even crowing yet.

No it isn't too young, I've had similar issues with 3 male, 10 week old roosters.

Roosters sometimes try to be “buddies” at shocking ages. My friend said her baby rooster tried to mate with another hen. They were only a week old!

At 6 weeks old my FBCM hopped on his sister 6 week old CL like he'd been doing it for yrs. right in front of me -one clean hop on, tug of the neck feather, contact, clean hop off, and strut away. She didn't like that very much then but now they are lovers and I'm going to have olive eggers this summer :)
