Isn't he too young?

I have a 12 week old Rooster that is trying to mount my hens. He is a BO/RIR mix. I don't remember my BO rooster starting that soon. Could he really be ready to do that? This is that same one that would get on his mama's back and grab her head like he was going to do something, but he was only a few weeks old.....

Is he going to be a trouble maker?

I would think he's just practicing. Let's hope his hormones settle down and he turns into a good roo -- but I'd keep my eye on him

Thanks. I guess I am going to have to keep an eye on my Alpha rooster BO as well. For some reason he is trying to mount my pellets, and he isn't being nice. He pulled out her feathers. She is only 12 weeks old. He is usually very sweet. I have noticed that the pellets are getting really red in the face but their comb and waddles aren't very big. The pellets are his daughters.
