Isn't on one going to answer my post? :(

I am expecting 15 chicks from Cackle on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. The temps here are supposed to be 95 with heat index of 110, they will be coming from Missouri, not sure what the temps are going to be around there but hot I'm sure. But, I am worried when it takes 2 days to get here where do the chicks stay on the two overnights? They don't leave them in the truck do they? Warm is good for babies but I do believe that would be overdoing it! Help please!!

They will be ok despite of being so warm. You might lose a few due to heat stress which that is normal during shipping. If you lose them all, you would need to contact the hatchery ASAP to get your refund or have them send you another batch.

Not sure if there is much you can do but just be ready to dip their little beaks in some water mixed with a bit of sugar.Call your post office the day before they are to arrive and let them know they are coming and to call you when they arrive.Good luck!

I spose this will be a dum thing to ask but if it's that warm will I need a heat lamp on them? Probly not right?

I hope they'll be ok, I am just so worried about them? What do you think about where are the babies overnight for 2 nights?

I ordered chicks from ideal hatchery last Wednesday...they shipped out on Thursday from Texas to Alabama...with temps pushing 100+..All my babies arrived safe and sound! I am so excited! So far so good. everyone is STILL doing well.

I'm Not using a brooder lamp at night...it is so warm I would be afraid that I would cook them! They cluster together and keep each other toasty.

I'm happy that all your chicks are ok

, I'll keep my fingers crossed for mine, I think we are going to pick them up at the hub, one less night they have to be in the box!
