We lost most of our flock while they were free ranging earlier this week. We never had a predator problem until now. :( I'm crushed, but we need a friend for our only remaining hen. They won't be free ranging anymore, we have a predator proof coop. We are in the indianapolis area

I am so sorry for your loss. What breed is the hen you have left? Are there any breeds you would rather not have?

She is a light brahma. I just feel so bad for her, she seems very depressed. I don't have a breed preference, but I can't own roosters in my area
