ISO light sussex in SC

Hi fellow fowl lovers. Does anyone know where i might find a couple of the light Sussex chicks(Pullets) in South Carolina. It seems i can find the speckled, but not any light. Since i'm fairly new to being a chicken dad, are there any reasons the light Sussex isn't popular in my area? From many cups of coffee, and hours reading, they are decent layers, fairly hardy, and gorgeous. From my understanding they are not hybrids, so just curious if there is some underlying reason they are not popular? Thanks ahead for any info. PS: Did find 1 hatchery from several states over, but minimum was 16 chicks...tha'ts several more than i need.

Did you check with the American Sussex Association ?they have a breeders directory. maybe that will help you.
I know a guy that some beautiful Light Sussex. but he's in Blairsville , Pennsylvania and he's not NPIP, that makes a difference.

What about the Haugh family at H&H Rare and Heritage poultry in York Haven, Pennsylvania. it's not who I was thinking of ,but they have beautiful Light Sussex and they are NPIP and ship all over the nation. they have a website. maybe check them out . I looked at their birds and they look nice. If you belong to the American Sussex Association, you get a 20% discount from them. They have a nice Facebook page. Karen
