ISO Silkie Roosters - of any color

We are in search of some silkie roosters of either pet or show quality.

We are in Illinois and would travel if close or figure something out if further.

Ideally we'd like a 1-2 year old, but not a must.

Hi there, hope you are enjoying BYC!

Consider checking your local craigslist farm and garden section.. as I see roosters, especially Silkies all day long on the 3 that surround my location almost equally... They are very often free or very affordable. Many folks claim from show quality lines but that has zero baring on the offspring and many have red combs or leakage.. but as you say it isn't an issue... you be able to find one that will suit your needs.

Also consider being patient.. all the folks who rushed and got bantams will soon be rehoming the boys since they almost never come sexed.

Good luck finding a great fella... it's ALWAYS nice when a boy can find a home.

Please be very cautious bringing unknown birds to your place.. as many things may not present for at least 3 weeks or more (so the current owner may not even know) and chicken diseases are almost always highly infectious/contagious.
