I also breed and raise Silver Spangled Hamburgs. They are among my favorite chickens! If more people knew about them they would take over the chicken world. LOL. I seriously love mine!

I think the description of them as being flighty scares people. Mine can fly, but they are friendly, free spirited and agile enough to evade predators. Great layers, and just plain beautiful and entertaining. If you can't tell... I love my Silver Spangled Hamburgs.

Yeah I get that all the time when trying to sell chicks. But I usually convince them once they met my pair. They are sweet birds and some of the best layers on the property for sure!!!

They are flighty but I'm not one to cuddle with my birds. I also love mine but she lays quite pointed eggs. Is this normal? I talk like I have many but only have 1. Oddly enough the other one I had got hit by a car. I had tried to find a couple more a while back but don't find them locally. They are a nice and beautiful bird and lays a good sized egg for being a smaller bird.
