So I had ordered an order of buttons from ebay and hatched them. 50% hatch rate(was shipped of course it lowers rate) had some broke upon arrival and were thrown out. Incubated and all popped right on time except 2 of them.

These two are having issues. One has curled toes**also the only silver one of the whole lot .
The second late baby 2 days late has issues standing and flops to one side or the other. We have done as much as we can to keep it hydrated and fed and is still alive but don't know what to do. Been trying the shotglass method to try to help it stand right and help it's legs strengthen but I'm not unsure what to do.
The silver one- how do I tape the toes on something so small

The longer it takes them to get out of the shell, the more likely they will have hatching defects, ie; curled toes, slipped tendons, etc. Your doing everything I would and have done, taping the toes is hard to do on such a small chick but it can be done. The shot glass method does work but sometimes there is nothing that will correct the defects and must be euthanized. Hope for the best with your chick's.

So good and bad news update-
we ended up loosing grey, the one with curled toes. it completely stopped eating and drinking and passed in the middle of the night. The one who had not been able to stand is still eating, by being hand fed. The shot glass is slowly working and it's starting to get enough strength to stand on its own. He's by no means a 100% but is doing so much better now it's a miracle. Keeping fingers crossed he will keep growing

I'm so sorry for your loss. Keep us up to date on the other one, glad he's doing better.
