Hello all new to hatching here so i have had some big issues with my first hatch. Things started out fine temps and humidity seemed fine through out incubation and yes i used a different gage then what came with the bator. Had 23 eggs to start with of those 7 hatched with out issue now. The wired part is those were all on the leftt side of the bator only one egg on the right side hatched when i say side i am referring to the fact i put a card board dived ìn the middel at lock down when Turner came out too divide breeds. Am going to give the eggs still in there till tonIght before i give up as today is day 25. Of the ones that did not make it 2 pipped and never zipped 1 half way zipped and dint finish rest of them nothing but all from right side of bator. Any ideas on this not sure how temp and humidity could vary much from one side to the other. What should i look for when i pull the eggs out too figure out what went wrong thanks in advance

One thing i forgot to mention,i opened the bator prob half a dozen times after lock down to get chicks out. I NOW realize this is a big no no but did not see any major humidity drops when i was doing it think this could be part of problem

these are the ones that made it

My guess would be that your partition stopped airflow, and that one side of the element gets warmer than the other. I'd get two thermometers, put one on each side of the divider, and measure the temperature after two hours. Then switch the thermometers from side to side, putting them in the same places in the incubator, and wait a couple hours again. Average the temperatures.

Thank u for that answer . Think it made that big of difference since i dint put it in till lock down

Well i had one more chick i had to hatch by hand but i think he will make it. Will leave him in there today but would like to get the rest of the eggs out.Is there a way i can see what happend to the rest of the eggs something i can check. I will do what walnuthill suggested after chick is out and bator is clean.

Thanks

I have the same bator and am currently incubating 4 silkies and (whats supposed to be) 4 bantams.. its day 15 and my silkies (all on the left side) are losing water well, air cell looks great, but my bantams (all on the right) have barely lost any and the embroys look HUGE inside the eggs. Now after seeing your post, im beginning to think its a design flaw...

Ran it 2 day's empty when i got it and kept temps like a rock Had a calibrated thermometer stuck down through plug in top, right at egg leavel. Need to find a good digital hygromitor though prob was not accurate let me know how your hatch go's thanks
