I’m currently hatching 6 eggs under a 2 year old goose. All was well until this morning when I came out to 2 dead fully hatched babies. She moved all eggs out of that nest and started sitting again. It’s been 6 hours with this quarter sized hole for another egg and it’s peeping and moving but not making progression... should I help? Could it be stuck? Mumma is great with me so no panic will come from her if I’m in there but I do t know what to do. There is a bit of blood around the hole but it’s not bleeding... This is day 27... No other pips yet so I’m expecting a 2-3 day hatching. Any help would be appreciated!

Well I put it under mumma and it’s out, then I saw her trying to kill it! So do I put it in a incubator to dry off, or under a heat lamp? She’s still on 5 eggs, so do I let her finish the hatch? This is hard! She must have been the one to kill the first two?

Okay so she’s hatched and is she dry or almost? Do you have a warm brooder set up? Needs to be around 90 right now.
She’s not dry, and she has the little yolk area that isn’t quite healed....

Yeah that needs to finish absorbing and kept clean so as not to introduce bacteria into the open place. I don’t think I’d leave the eggs under your goose if you have seen her trying to kill this one and possibly killing 2 others.
