Ok. I think I’m done being in denile. One of our chickens is a rooster. Sooo sad. How long before he can fertilize an egg? They are about 3 months old.

I am looking to rehome him. Is there any specific resource that I can use?

What breed is he? Many breeds can fertilize eggs I'd guess at about 4 months but some like our silkies more like 8 months. He might try to breed them before they're even laying though.

Where I turn to is local poultry groups on Facebook. You could also try Craig's List for your area. There is also a thread here for every state and most countries here. You could find the one for where you are and try that.

I am so thrilled. Turns out it was a hen after all! We found “him” a home, cried as my husband took her and the lady said, I think you’ve got a hen. Tulip was on her way back! Yay
