It’s happening again :(

Last year I hatched 2 goslings, within 2 weeks they both developed issues with walking and passed away and almost seemed like they had never grown

This year one of my girls has hatched 3 and just now one of them had a walking issue that was exactly like last year, I’m scared it’s going to be a repeat of what happened :(

They’re over a week old now, I’d like to think they have grown but my paranoia from last year makes me feel like they haven’t - I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong…

What are you feeding? Mine do great on Purina flock raiser. Mine are 3 days old. Yours look like they are growing to me.
the crumb we originally had got mouldy super fast 🥲 so we’re currently waiting on some smallholder baby chick crumbs that said they were also suitable for waterfowl - they have access to a lot of grass currently thankfully as well as lots of lettuce, peas etc.
I’m glad that they seem like they’re growing!! Puts my mind at ease a bit ❤️‍🩹

I generally make sure they eat the feed for the most part for the first few weeks. It's important they get good nutrition up front. After the first week or two I add in some chopped grasses and dandelion greens. By week three I let the mom out and still provide the ration for another two months before switching to the adult feed which is an all flock ration.

When the new feed arrives I’ll definitely see if I can section them so that they prioritise eating the feed, thank you!

I would add the vitamins as @Goosebaby said at this point to hopefully get them caught up if they are a bit low on vitamins. I can't really help with brand, but I would use a poultry vitamin that says waterfowl as well.
