I live in a village on the coast so we don’t tend to get extreme weather but it’s started to snow (fairly heavily now) and I cannot get my chickens in!
I gave them warm porridge earlier, as cold weather was forecast, but can’t entice them in with mealworms.
The rooster has got them under a shrub in the corner of my garden. Will they be ok? Help!

If your chickens enjoy frolicking in a light rain, they will feel no differently about frozen rain. No need to be concerned unless the temperature dips below freezing and there is a wind blowing, causing a dangerous wind chill factor. Then you need to bring your chickens in under protection, not from the snow, but from the freezing wind.

What Azygous said. Seems to me they are quite happy out in the garden. If they weren't, I'm pretty sure they'd be letting you know that they want back inside.

You actually brought warm porridge to your chickens?:oops::duc We all spoil our animals in some regards :D

If they refuse to move and it's been a long time out there and you are concerned they won't go back to roost, you can clear a path down to grass/dirt with a shovel or broom from the spot where they are hiding to their coop. If they aren't used to snow it may be scary and they might not want to walk on it. They look to be in a safe sheltered spot for now.
