Hello! My daughter and I have referred to your site since last fall when 2 young chickens (later to be definitely determined to be roosters) were roaming our semi- rural street. They slept on neighbors porches and in their flower beds until my then 10 yr old begged to keep them. I foolishly said "Sure if you can catch them!" Much to my surprise, she enlisted help from neighbor kids and her big sis and "ta-da!" Roscoe P Coletrain & Chicken Boo had a home. I built a coop, and all was good. The boys get along ok apparently since there are no women to fight over. They are very pretty and as far as I can tell are just mixed bantams? Unfortunately, they have become a bit aggressive so my daughter can no longer handle them. And we recently discovered some of the neighbors REALLY don't care for their crowing. Which they do quite often! We would love to find them a new home, where they could protect a few gals of their own. Is this ever a real possibility? I don't have the heart to put them in the stew pot, so to speak, but the neighbor issue is a real concern. I feel so guilty about getting rid of them, but my daughter really also wants something she can be near without being attacked, and I can't blame her for that. Guess I'm looking for some advice. Any thoughts?

Sad to say that the reason you found stray roosters is that someone dumped theirs. There is such a glut of roosters available for reasons like yours; aggressive and crow too much,
that ending up as someone's dinner is probably the best you can do with them. I'm sorry.

Kinda thought as much. And yes, we did find out they had belonged to another neighbor who had dumped them, but they had somehow found their way back. They had not begun crowing yet, and we had hoped that one, at least, might be a hen. Oh well! We will just take it day by day. I have rehabbed aggressive dogs and cats, maybe I'll have to give roosters a try! Thanks for the sympathetic ear.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. What drumstick diva says is correct. Sadly, it's virtually impossible to rehab aggressive roosters. One thing you might try is pinless peepers. The roosters will still be able to use their peripheral vision to eat and drink, but they will not be able to see straight in front of them which is needed for pecking and spurring. If your not familiar with pinless peepers, you can see them at http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/pinless_peepers.html. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your roosters.

You might stop by your state thread and chat with your chicken neighbors. Maybe someone nearby would take them....https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/12049/ohio-come-on-buckeyes-let-me-know-your-out-there

When you have 20 posts, you can place an ad in our Buy Sell and Trade section in hopes of rehoming them there...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16182/animals-in-need-of-free-re-homing

Good luck and I hope you can find them some forever homes soon. :)

Thanks to everyone for your advice and suggestions. I truly appreciate it! I'm going to sit down with my daughter and try to make a plan with some of your suggestions. Will post again if any news. Thanks again!
