Finally I just went out to the coop to check to see if anything has happened and there it was! Our very first egg! Out of 12 hens at 20 weeks old, one of them finally laid an egg! I am so excited! Here is a picture of our very first egg! I know there is tons of postings of people with their first egg, but it is so exciting! I had to share it with everyone![IMG][IMG]

The picture isn't all that great but it shows the egg!

Neat! I remember how excited I was to poke my head in and snoop around in the coop to discover 4 brown eggs in a tight bunch in a nesting box! I can feel your excitement! Congratulations!

Ever since I got the chickens I have enjoyed every moment of it, more than I ever thought I would! They are so neat! I catch myself just sitting outside watching their behavior like when they lay in the dirt and kind of roll around in it! I find it so fascinating! I get great pleasure out of them! It was such an exciting feeling going out there and discovering an egg! It is so hard to explain the feeling I got when I found it!

Congrats on your 1st egg. May there be MANY MANY more to come. I know exactly how you feel. And if you're like me, you know how dorky you look jumping all around, calling all your family members to tell them; but you do it anyway because you have no shame. LOL Now you better eat that egg and enjoy it! [IMG]

I was told that the first egg that a hen lays is no good to eat. Is that true? And I did get all excited and call my family jumping up and down! I couldn't wait to brag about the very first egg!
