It has begun

My staggered hatch has begun, zipping is a blue isbar/BCM mix with I believe a dark brama mix of some sort. This is the first egg of this hen's I have gotten to hatch, and the grandma, (BCM) I only hatched one of hers. I think this egg will look like grampa, but a hen...

Dammit!!!

OK, I was turning eggs this evening, and I pulled an SC.

I candled a few, even though it's a day early. In most of the blue eggs the veining was readily apparent. In the cream or white eggs I had veining in at least half, the other half I could not tell. In the tan brown and dark brown eggs I couldn't see chit.

Is it normal to see the yoke still moving around and lose in the shell?

**** you BYC and yer incubating threads!!!

All of y'all hush and no "I told you so's"!!!!

It has begun! Poor Bert.

SC?

Never have incubated but read a lot. Best advice is DON'T CANDLE UNTIL DAY 10. Helps preserve your sanity! That's what I did with my broody hens. Someone with experience will give you the scoop, but I'd say put it back and resist the urge to peek! Of course it may already be too late for you...

I had my first chick ever hatch this morning. By the time I got home from work about 8 hrs later he or she is all dried off so I put it in a brooder. What I've noticed is the outside toe on both feet are curled under the food and it walks on it. Is this normal and will straighten out? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
