It has begun

They were bent in an egg for quite a while, and they are getting used to walking standing. it will straighten out. don't put those horrible bandaids on her foot. I had 2 chicks I got from other people with bad toes at hatch and they all cured themselves one took 2 weeks but it was fixed.

I wouldn't use "horrible bandaids" either, but chick shoes can work really well in straightening out a curled toe. Can you massage it straight?

If you don't see improvement tomorrow, you can cut a shoe out of cardboard and tape the chick's toes flat on the board. Only takes a few days to get them growing straight.

Good luck with your new babies!

Thank you I figured it wasnt something to worry about, but was curious. I belive it is a mix between my back cochin bantam and a polish mixed breed that is black and golden laced.

Next time I turn eggs, I swear I will not candle. I am going to wait until Friday candle again! I can do it.

You can do it! :thumbsup

I try (and I use the word try very loosely indeed!!) not to candle too much as I find you get a better idea of growth when you have left more days inbetween. You can see changes a lot more clearly.
