I chose not to have a pop door because I have a nice wood door exiting into the run. It just seems easier to open that door in the A.M. and close it at night. In my other coop the chickens all crowded around the pop door and I had to be careful not to step on toes when I opened it. It could be that the big door will cause too much of a draft left open this winter, however, it is on the North side and all our weather comes in from the South. I can always add a pop door if I feel that it is necessary.
My last run was 12 x 24 and it took me forever! I am not looking forward to running wire or digging to put some wire underground. I am doing all the work by myself and it is labor intensive for sure.
We have named the coop "The Cluck and Cackle Club" and I painted the doors green. Maybe some of you are old enough to remember that song Green Door.
Great job! From experience, goats have lice! Every spring we had to treat the goats for lice. Suggest you put out plenty of DE to prevent them just in case! Looks like a happy bunch of hens.
