Sorry for the long post with all the pictures but after two weeks of solid work the coop is finially done. I would like to thank those that answered my many questions and those that answered everyone elses questions I mooched ideas from. I was amazed how much work it actually was, especially since I had to build it with only the occasional help from a 5yo and a 7yo who might be wandering by. I think if I was to offer any advice to anyone about to build a coop it would be this--get prices on everything you are going to need because it amazed me how much little stuff like hinges, washers, screws and caulk can run up the price. I ended up over $100 over budget but I am pretty happy with the finished product so here it is.
Front of the coop with some chickens who are happy to be out of their tupperware container
Side of the coop with shot of nest box and permanent eave vents
Shot of the closeable vents on front and side of coop
Back of coop with roof vents (I got a bunch for free so I figured I would use them)
Nest box picture with roost--they arent laying yet so I havnt put litter in the nest box yet
Front of coop with Cooper the Wonder Dog sizing up the security of the run
And a couple of pictures my kids wanted added in
