Nugget my sweet 9 month old Golden Comet..
Laid an egg yesterday morning by 7am.. by that afternoon (1pm) she was acting like she was trying to lay a second egg.. I left her in peace but by last night she still hadn’t laid and the other chicks were picking on her a little. We had to leave so I put her in the garage and when I got back home.. I brought her in gave her an epsom salt bath and 1/4 of tums (whole tablet 1000).. put her in the garage.. and she slept. This morning she drank water and acted fine at first.
once outside, she started barely walking (waddling) again. I put her in the coop and let the other chickens out.She went straight to the nesting box..3 hours later nothing.
I repeated epsom bath (20mins) and tums tablet.
Put her back in nesting box/coop by herself and closed the door for darkness.
She is still drinking (and I placed electrolytes in her water )
even applied a little olive oil in her vent
she is still laying down not moving and still nothing.
she has pooped some solid and some solid with a little liquid with it since last night.
Any other options or advice. I have looked and researched so much.. I don’t thing it could be egg
peritonitis could happen that quickly after laying a solid egg yesterday morning, could it??
please she is our sweet girl
