Started with 120 dropped 2 so 118 in bator

Hatched and living 36

Died full term in shell 14

Died early 36

Infertile 31

Infertile Rotten 1 and as soon as I touched the shell it blew up on me. About lost my dinner from the smell!!!

COUPLE THAT WITH SHIPPING DURING THE HOT MONTHS WHICH WILL MAGNIFY THE PROBLEM= BAD SUCESS RATE.

PS YOUR HATCH WOULD HAVE BEEN SLIGHTY BETTER IF YOU HAD NOT FUMBLED THE NEWEST EGGS

What is Eggtopsy?

Eggtopsy is where you open all the remaining eggs up to see if they started to develope and is so what stage they died at. Sort of like an autopsy for a human.

36 live birds,say 18 are hens,,18 laying hens at 5 days =90 eggs,incubate 90 eggs.80% hatch,,theres your start of a great breeding stock,,I really enjoy my quail.plus their tasty and eggs are delicious,,good luck with your birds,,sounds like you got everything together,,,,,

Well 36 for now. I have 70+ eggs in route right now. So I am hoping to be able to have 50 hens laying for me next spring.
