Hi! I do art and I like chickens and I'm sad. And anxiety ridden, much like a dog with fleas. I am a disgusting human being infecting a new part of the internet by coming here to talk about chickens.
My family used to own chickens, about 27 of them. It was one big feathery mess, but that slowed down when my mother made one of the worst decisions she has ever made to this date and got a hunting dog which killed most of our chickens because she neglected to cage the thing. But that's besides the point.
We've recently aquired some more chickens, 3 Rhode Island Reds. They're still 'babies', and by 'babies', I mean they're at that stage where they look like they've been attacked by a cat. And still regrowing their feathers. One of them is the same size as the others, but they're not growing their feathers as fast as the others, and they seem to be extremely attached to me. And I'm of course extremely worried about her.
I've come here to get some advice about how to raise my chickens properly, since I don't exactly trust my family with chickens, especially after what happened last time.
As mentioned before I do have a lot of anxiety and problems with depression. So just, be very very careful when talking to me, or I could have a major freakout and abandon all hope.
And as a final note, I have NO IDEA what I'm doing.
