You have to love hatching under a broody. One minute it was just Pearl sitting on her nest. Then next minute there is a perfectly dry and alert little chick! Just like it appeared out of nowhere!

A Momma hen with chicks is the greatest site in the world. I do not exaggerate.

Hopefully I will have the same this weekend end. My bantam white cochin(Pigie) is finally settled in new private nest. She will be getting incubator eggs that are due Saturday. Pigie has been broody for 2.5 months. She is unbreakable, so I don't try anymore.
