Anyhooo - I was not trying to start an argument, just commenting that I wish everyone would be nice to each other. If for no other reason thanthe fact that we are fellow human beings. I don't agrue. I just back out.

I bet the ones that get locked also get read the most I don't really see a problem with political discussions. Whether it's the economy or a war or new taxes. Most adults have an opinion. Besides it's good fo people to hear a different opinion and the reasons for that opinion. Most people tend to listen to news sources that say what they want to hear. When you do that you only hear one side of the issue. People should always hear both sides whether they agree or not.

I never take issue with intelligent discussions and people that respect others opinions. Sometimes people are just rude and it's not necessary. However, I am of a mind that political discussions, because they DO get heated and rude, belong elsewhere. Just my opinion.

There is no "party line" there are rules.

As for politics, as long as it is civil and is within the rules it is allowed most times.

Threads are locked for a ton of different reasons. If you guys can't tell why a thread was locked (and most of the time it is pretty clear why) then feel free to PM the moderator that closed it or another member of the staff and ask why.

We're not running an evil dictatorship of censored speech. We don't have evil men in dark trench coats out to silence the masses. We're actually VERY open to feedback and work closely with all the members to make BYC better. Actually, that's the reason why BYC is so great is because we listen to the TONS of reports we receive every day. We know what works and doesn't work for this community and guide the ship accordingly while ensuring that our mission and vision are kept in mind.

Again, we have rules and moderation because we love the community and have a goal to be the best place for people to get information to help their flocks... that will always take precedence over everything else.

Follow simple rules like being kind, patient, slow to anger, level headed, and don't post material that is inappropriate for our very diverse community and our staff will have nothing to do all day but change people's titles.
