But I finally convinced my husband to let us get chickens! Hey y'all! My name is Amy and my husband and I are the proud owners of six baby chickies. I had just received five as a birthday present four years ago when I lived in CA but then promptly moved to Texas and had my grandparents in Arizona adopt them. I met my hubby two years ago and have been brainwashing...I mean, subtly hinting...I mean begging...him for chickens! We got married 6 weeks ago and 4 weeks ago we ordered our babies...happy wife, happy life, right ?

So now we have two Buff Brahmas, two Black Australorps, one Golden Laced Wyandotte, and one Barred Rock. He likes the idea of fresh eggs, organic feed, raising them humanely, but he has really become attached to them! He makes sure we hold all of them at least once a day and he buys extra produce for them to toss in for some cool treats in the Texas heat. So fun to see him realize how awesome chickens are!
I just joined BYC and wanted to stop by and say hi and introduce my(our)self a bit. I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all and learning from you! Here's to happy and healthy chickens!!
