So this is my question.
It snowed yesterday, I went and got my chickens heat lamps. Is there Anything else they need? I'm scared they're cold! They DO have food and water!

As long as your chickens have a dry well ventilated coop to get out of the wind when they want to then you don't need heat lamps for most breeds :)

I agree, heat lamps aren't necessary. All they do is pose a fire risk. They can also increase the risk of frostbite. There's a foot of snow on the ground here, more coming soon, and the girls are perfectly happy in their top quality down coats :). If you want, you can feed them small amounts of corn to help build up body heat, but it's not fully necessary. But if you ask them, they'd also tell you they're going to die if you don't give them warm oatmeal (if you decide to listen to them, this is a treat with no nutritional value and therefore should be a very small part of their diet).
