Big possum! Better close off that gap above the door. Glad you got it as it would have stuck around until its 'food source' was gone.

I'm so sorry about your silkies. They are such sweet creatures.

'Possums sneak in during dusk and eat an egg or two if you don't collect them all and then lay down and take a nap. They are lazy creatures. You still better watch out for the coon.

Not sure there was a raccoon this time .We think it may have been this possum all the time. We thought it was a raccoon because the vet said the dog had been attacked by one. But the size of this guys insizors.

We have two traps that we are going to set. One for raccoons and one for possums. DH read marshmellows for raccoons and cat food for possums.

My husband post on a gun board and posted those pictures. Someone came back and said they had a possum problem and set a trap. He said he caught the same possum 3 nights in a row. Like that would happen at this house....

I'm with Debi214...possums don't ussually fight with dogs. They play "possum", in other words they play dead. We have many many of them around here and they are disgusting but not mean, they run away or play dead but rarely fight dogs. A racoon is a totally different beast all together, they have given my pitbull a run for his money before. I would keep an eye out for him. He's out there...trust me.

This.

Possums just don't fight, they give you "the look" that will give you the willies, roll over and play dead, move very slowly, they're creepy, ugly and dumb, but not very aggressive.
