It was just a chicken.

I'm lucky to live in a small city with no restrictions and where my chicken are safe in my backyard from dogs and other large predators! It;s the dog owners' fault if their dog is shot for killing livestock! It's the dogs instinct and everyone knows this! This makes me angry because hundreds of dogs could have been saved if they had just been confined by a simple fence!

Amazing I love it!

Here if a dog is attacking live stock on your property its legal to put it down. I actually learned from animal control that if they see a dog (collar or not) attacking live stock they are required by law to put the animal down on the spot. It does sound bad but people are more conscious of their dogs out here. We do not raise live stock (we just keep chickens for our own use) but the farmers who do, do not play out here. There is now law that says you have to keep your dogs leashed or in your own yard. So its odd you can let your dogs run free but your neighbors can kill em if they pose a threat to live stock.
