Hello,
I recently posted on here because I had what I thought a chicken that had prolapsed. She died from it, then another hen had a bloody rear this past Friday. We took her to a friends farm and she is doing fine. Yesterday we went out, and a third chicken had a bloody rear (we only have four hens) and we come to the conclusion that the chicken that's left with a nice rear is the one that's been pecking the other ones and injuring/ killing the other hens. I have read that this can happen, but it's sad because now we have no hens left!! (We got rid of the injured ones and the mean one is going to chickie heaven!) So now we're going to start over and maybe try some bantams. We have a small coop, so this may be just right. Just wanted to let others know what may happen. Have a great day- Brenda
