So my duck friend called a couple days ago and told me her Muscovies hatch 12 eggs and I get first pick for my birthday! What a surprise! His name is Snipe and he is very friendly. He doesn't follow very well but we're working on it. He is staying in a 29 gallon fish tank with a heat lamp for now but will be moving into a dog crate very soon as he is growing. I vent sexed him and a little tiny bump was there. It didn't look as pronounced as in the video tutorial by Metzer but I didn't see it on the females in the videos either.
Also Lucky's bumble foot is fully healed now so she is staying with friends that have Rouens since she wasn't very happy inside being she wasn't imprinted or fond of people. She was raised outside so it's only right that she be somewhere with other ducks and fresh air. Snipe is going to have free roam of the house once he gets in his diapers. Can ducks climb stairs?
