Hi Everyone,

We're a bit confused and wondered if you could offer any explanation/advice.

We have 6 girls and 1 drake. We have been collecting 4 eggs per day for a
few months now, however on Monday we found 7 eggs and discovered that one
of the ducks had made a nest. We left the three eggs in the nest alone to see
if she would sit on them, but she didn't so we took them out.

Knowing that there was no eggs left in their housing, we expected to find the normal 4 :)
However - there was 10!!!!

Any ideas what this is about?

Thanks

Could someone be pranking you??

Sounds odd to be getting 10 eggs/day from 6 birds. Typically they don't lay that fast, but who knows, maybe your girls are just in a really good mood!

Your 100% they don't have a nest some where in the housing that's maybe under straw or anything? They might be laying this much or they have a nest somewhere and moved the eggs.

Sounds like the girls have been hiding their eggs under the bedding or something. Ducks are not capable of laying more than one egg per day. They are however good at hiding their eggs in an attempt to get a nest full.
